1. What we collect
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and phone number. When you register a business we additionally collect the business details you provide: registration and PAN/VAT numbers, address and map location, photos, product catalog, opening hours, and contact channels. When you browse, we record page views on business profiles (used for the "viewed this week" counter) and standard server logs.
2. How we use it
Your information is used to operate the marketplace: showing business profiles to buyers, routing enquiries, bulk order requests (RFQs), quotes, and order updates between you and the other party, and sending you notifications about that activity. Business profile information is public by design — that is the point of a directory. Your account email and phone are never displayed publicly unless you put them on a business profile yourself.
3. WhatsApp communication
If you provide a WhatsApp number, we send transactional notifications (new enquiry, new RFQ, quote received, order status) through the WhatsApp Business API. We do not send marketing messages via WhatsApp. You can remove your number from your profile at any time to stop these notifications.
4. Payments
Subscription and commission payments are processed by eSewa and Khalti. We never see or store your wallet credentials, card numbers, or banking details — we store only the payment reference, amount, and status returned by the gateway.
5. Public data imports
Some unclaimed listings are created from OpenStreetMap, a publicly licensed dataset (ODbL). These contain only information already public: business name, category, location, and where available a phone number or website. If such a listing is yours, you can claim it or ask us to remove it.
6. Cookies & analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and to remember your language choice. Sponsored placements record impression and click counts in aggregate; the "why this ad" note on every ad explains its targeting, and "Not interested" is recorded without identifying you.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only: (a) with the business or buyer you are transacting with, as needed for that transaction; (b) with payment gateways and the WhatsApp Business API to deliver the services described above; (c) if required by Nepali law.
8. Your rights
You can update your details from your profile page, and request deletion of your account or an unclaimed listing of your business by contacting [email protected]. Account deletion removes your personal data; records required for completed financial transactions are retained as required by law.
9. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page. Material changes will be announced on the site.
